Israel Tour October 8-20, 2023 - Notional Itinerary

**The following plan is only a notional itinerary, but we do plan on keeping as close as possible to this schedule. However, sometimes local conditions such as weather, traffic, too many tourists at a site, etc. may require that we change the itinerary. Please be flexible and understanding that if and when changes are being made they are only done out of necessity to improve and/or add to the overall experience of the tour. Your safety, enjoyment and learning enhancement are our highest priority in any changes that may be made.

October 8, 2023, Sunday - Leave from Dallas Fort Worth airport for our overnight flight to Israel.

October 9, 2023, Monday - Arise! We’ve arrived at Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport. We will proceed through Passport Control, retrieve our luggage and be greeted by our local Israeli guide and our driver. Then we will head along the Mediterranean coastline where we will stop in the seaside city of Tel Aviv and start to catch up on the 10 hour time difference. Overnight: Tel Aviv

October 10, 2023, Tuesday -This morning after Breakfast we will proceed to the ancient city of Jaffa (Joppa). It was in Joppa, where Simon Peter had a housetop vision (Acts 10) and Jonah booked a cruise. Then we will continue north along the shores of the Mediterranean to the incredible remains of the ancient port of Caesarea Maritime a city built by King Herod the Great, (who was a great builder, but not a great person at all). This city of Caesarea became the seat of the Roman Governor, Pontius Pilate (also not a very nice guy). We will visit the
extensive excavations of the site including the palace of Herod where Paul testified before Kings and Queens, the theater, Hippodrome and the Roman aqueduct and of course read the biblical accounts of events that happened there. From there it is on to Megiddo the Armageddon of the Book of Revelation, the valley where the armies of the world will gather for their final disasterous battle. Overnight: Sea of Galilee

October 11, 2023, Wednesday - Morning boat ride from EnGev to the northeast corner of the Sea of Galilee for a sea view of the miracle site of Bethsaida. Then we will visit the newly discovered fishing village of Bethsaida, the home of Peter, Andrew and Philip and numerous miracles. Next we will stop at the village of Magdala, the home of Mary Magdalene where an astounding discovery during an archeological dig has been uncovered at this biblical fishing village. Then it’s over to the seaside biblical town of Capernaum where Jesus made his ministry headquarters.
A Jordan River Baptismal site is nearby called YARDENIT. Those desiring to be baptized in the Jordan may do it here. Overnight: Sea of Galilee

October 12, 2023, Thursday - This morning we will start our exploration of the Jordan Valley as we head south along the Aravah Valley. Near the northeastern end of the Sea is a site thought to be where the swine ran down the steep hill into the sea. Next is Ein Gedi a desert oasis with waterfalls, pools and two large streams. The Bible records that 3000 years ago David hid from King Saul in a cave at Ein Gedi. Next, from the bus we will see the caves at Qumran – best known as the settlement nearest to the place of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We will stay overnight at the Dead Sea, the lowest place on planet earth.

October 13, 2023, Friday - Early ascent of the Mountain Fortress of Masada the scene of the last Jewish resistance against the Romans in 73AD. Continuing south to Timnah Park the location of King Solomon’s copper mines and a visit to a full size replica of the Tabernacle in the desert. Overnight: Eilat on the Red Sea.

October 14, 2023, Saturday - Today we will enter Egypt to go to Nuweiba Beach where we believe is the location of where the Children of Israel were trapped by the mountains and the red sea and about to be slaughtered by Pharoah’s army when God split the waters and they escaped on dry ground to Midian (Saudi Arabia). Return from Egypt to Israel for overnight in Eilat.

October 15, 2023, Sunday - This morning we will drive north on our way to Jerusalem. As we pass Jericho and turn westward on the Jericho Road to the city of the great King; our first view of Jerusalem will be from Mount Scopus followed by the Mount of Olives overlook. If time permits we will walk down the Mount of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane. Overnight: Sephardic House.

October 16, 2023, Monday - Visit the Top of the TEMPLE MOUNT, and Davidson Center, The SOUTHERN STEPS of the Temple, before crossing the KIDRON VALLEY and ascending the MOUNT OF OLIVES to most likely location of the crucifixion of Jesus is the area near the summit of the Mount of Olives on the grounds of the Pater Noster. Queen Helena, Constantine’s mother, built a church over a tomb and cave in the Fourth century near this area of the Crucifixion,Resurrection and Ascension. Next is the CITY OF DAVID and the POOL OF SILOAM. Overnight: Sephardic House.

October 17, 2023, Tuesday - Today we will explore the newer part of Jerusalem for a heartwarming stop at a workshop for some of Israel’s most valuable assets, Yad L’kashish. From there we will continue to Yad Vashem, the Memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. After that we visit Shorashim and still have time for shopping in The Old City. Overnight: Overnight: Sephardic House.

October 18, 2023, Wednesday - we will start with a visit to the 911 Memorial, the only one outside of the US and to the area of Abu Gosh, believed by some to be Emmaus, where the resurrected Jesus walked to on that incredible Sunday afternoon. And a special surprise awaits us on a nearby round-about where Israel’s best kept secret is “still in the house.” Continuing to the Valley of Elah where little David helped the 9’6” Philistine giant Goliath get stoned. Next is the Ayalon Institute for an inside look at a daring underground venture during the fight for freedom of the state in 1948. Our varied day will end with a heart-warming visit to Save A Child’s Heart in Holon, Israel where a modern fulfillment of Genesis 12:3 is taking place. Overnight: Sephardic House.

October 19, 2023, Thursday - A free morning in Jerusalem before we check out from our hotel and travel to the Tel Aviv seashore for some last minute shopping or free time along the Mediterranean. After dinner on your own we will drive to Ben Gurion Airport to check in for our flight home.

October 20, 2023, Friday - Arrive Home in USA and start dreaming of your next trip to God’s Promised Land!! We hope that our time together in His Land has been all (and more) that you had anticipated.
